For educators

Teach students to question AI, not copy it.

The Socratic Way of Prompting gives your class a simple, repeatable method for using AI with curiosity and care.

How to use the book in class

Designed for students aged 17 to 22, in school, college or university.

Read a chapter, run the loop

Assign one chapter a week. Students then apply Ask, Challenge, Test, Refine to a real question from your subject.

Compare prompts in pairs

Students swap a weak prompt and a Socratic one, then discuss which answer taught them more and why.

Make verification a habit

Use the ethics and verification chapter to build a checking routine into assignments, from source checks to reflection notes.

Three benefits for your students

Sharper thinking

They learn to question assumptions, including their own, and to build arguments rather than collect answers.

Honest use of AI

They use AI as a thinking partner, check what it says, and stay clearly the author of their own work.

Skills that last

The method works across subjects, tools and careers, so it keeps its value as AI keeps changing.
